Impact Fluids Featured in PMA Magazine: 60% Reduction in Stamping Fluid Usage at Armstrong International

Armstrong Cuts Fluid Use by 60 Percent with Impact Fluids

Armstrong International was struggling with overuse of stamping lubricant, which led to wasted fluid, safety hazards, and extra downtime. Our team performed a full Fluid Lifecycle Analysis and helped them install a new application system that used the right amount of fluid for their deep-draw stamping process. This resulted in a 60 percent reduction in stamping fluid usage, improved tool life by 30 percent, and made their shop floor cleaner and safer.

This project was featured in MetalForming Magazine by the Precision Metalforming Association. The article highlights how Armstrong moved away from the idea that “more lubricant is better” and achieved a major reduction in stamping fluid usage, along with improvements in fluid costs, tool life, and workplace safety. As Armstrong’s manufacturing engineer put it,

“We’ve seen a 60 percent reduction in overall fluid use and significantly reduced oil mist in the air and lubricant on the floor.”

It’s a strong example of how smarter fluid strategies make a real impact on metal forming operations.
